Scones
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 upsugar
- 2 T. powdered buttermilk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 upchilled butter
- 1 cup blueberries or dried fruit
- Optional white chocolate chips
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Mix 2 ½ cups flour, ¼ cup sugar, 2 T. powdered buttermilk and 2 tsp. baking powder. Cut in ½ cup chilled butter. Add 1 cup blueberries or dried fruit. (I often add white chocolate chips and craisins.)
- Separately, mix 1 large egg with ½ cup water (should equal ¾ cup liquid). Blend into flour mix. Do not over mix.
- Mound dough onto buttered baking sheet or parchment paper and bake 15-20 min.
- Top with a powdered sugar glaze, if desired. (I used powdered sugar, milk & almond extract).
