Chocolate Chip Crumble
Ingredients
- 1 pound BRICK margarine (soft margarine will NOT work)
- 2 cups brown sugar packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
- In large bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Add margarine and cut in with pastry blender or with a fork. Mix well until it is all crumbly. This will not be a doughy mixture. It will be dry - like cheese cake crust.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and if desired, walnuts.
- Press the mixture into an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges begin to brown. Do NOT overbake!!!
- Let cool slightly but cut into bars while still a bit warm. Leave in the pan until completely cool, or the cookies will fall apart.
